11 Netflix Marvel Performances The MCU Needs To Save
4. Luke Cage (Mike Colter)
Luke Cage began TV life as a Jessica Jones love interest, and thank the gods he got his own show.
Otherwise known as Power Man, he had been a comic book institution since the 70's and underwent numerous revamps along the way, but he was always the no-nonsense down to earth type, with an unfaltering level of conviction. It's a simple character construct which many actors could have risked overplaying and getting wrong. But Mike Colter nailed the balance just right.
The biggest unsolved Netflix elephant in the room was the character transition that Cage underwent at the end of his last ever episode. In the final moments, he went a little bit bad, and we never got closure past that point. This unsatisfactory resolve and Colter's performance in general are just two reasons why Luke Cage absolutely must re-emerge in this exact guise at some point and somewhere in the MCU universe.
To wipe the slate clean and bring in a new actor would be an extreme discredit to everything achieved by, not just Colter, but the entire team behind the Luke Cage TV series, which was awesome.
