12 Anime That Make You Root For The Villain
8. My Hero Academia - The League Of Villains
My Hero Academia is an anime that's so filled with pure-unadulterated fun that you'll even find yourself cheering for the villains, simply because they are so entertaining. The world of good and evil may be clear-cut in superhero projects, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy the bad guys.
At first, it's easy to detest Tomura Shiguraki, as, despite his cool aesthetic and quirk, he's shown to be a psychopathic brat. But, as the show progresses and he builds his team of supporting players, it becomes harder and harder to hate him.
His group, The League of Villains, are a tour-de-force of likeable characters. There's the badass Dabi, the hilarious Twice, the eccentric Mr Compress and even the Harley Quinnesque Himiko Toga. They're an ensemble of characters that have such great chemistry they could be the leads in their own story.
The series itself even comes to realise this, as season five spends a whole arc (the Meta Liberation Army Arc, to be precise) from the perspective of these baddies, showing as they battle against Re-Destro. In this instance, you find yourself actively rooting for their victory.

Gentle Criminal and LeBrava also should get an honourable mention here, as they also tugged at your heartstrings and had you wishing both the heroes and villains could win.
