2. The Mad Hatter/Jefferson

Sebastian Stan's Jefferson/Mad Hatter popped up near the end of the show's first season and quickly became a fan favorite. Although it feels like he was on the show a lot longer than he actually was, Jefferson reunited with his daughter before vanishing three episodes into the show's second season. Stan brought such a refreshing energy in his debut, which carried through to his final appearance, that the few times he has been mentioned since, both on the main show and the Wonderland spin-off, serve as a harsh reminder of how disappointing his absence is. Being reunited with his daughter is at least a satisfying conclusion to his story arc, but knowing that he could potentially help with many of the problems that have faced the main characters in the time since keeps it from being as fulfilling as it should be. With Stan's career now much larger than Once Upon a Time -- he's the Winter Soldier, after all -- the chance of Jefferson returning to the show seems incredibly slim.
