3. Lori's Final Moments
Though Lori Grimes was far from everyone's favourite character, thanks in equal part to her awful parenting skills and inconsistent behaviour, there is one thing that the show got right with her: Her death. That's not to say it was a welcome demise, exactly, only that the way it was done was effective and emotional.
In the beginning of season three, former prisoner and mini-antagonist Andrew let a horde of walkers into the prison in hopes of killing Rick. During the attack, the group was scattered, and Lori began to give birth alongside Maggie and Carl. Maggie delivered the baby, and Lori gave her son a speech about how much she loves him and he's destined to survive the new world.
It's a harrowing moment, made all the more horrifying when Carl shoots his mother before she can reanimate, and then by Rick's chilling reaction at the close of the episode.
