12 Essential Stocking Fillers For Doctor Who Fans

5. Enemy of the World and Web of Fear DVD or Download

Enemy Web Dvd Special Edition Yes! One of the best things we could have hoped for on the 50th Anniversary, the biggest single find of missing episodes EVER! No single episode scraps, one complete adventure and another near complete adventure and guess what, they are everything we hoped for and more and they are available to download from iTunes now or very soon on DVD. Enemy of the World was never really high on any lists of stories to resurface due to what was perceived to be Patrick Troughton's misjudged and cheesy performance as South American born Doctor Doppleganger, Salamander, and lack of any monsters (current series take note). But here it is and it's brilliant and most importantly complete. The Web of Fear on the other hand was high up on the list of priorities and whilst still irritatingly still missing one episode, it is still just as much a classic as we expected and features the seldom seen Yeti and the Great Intelligence as recently featured in Series 7. Whilst the story is available on iTunes right now, the missing episode 3 is reconstructed from photographs. The DVD is released in February and if recent releases are anything to go by, episode 3 will be fully animated allowing us to get a step closer to witnessing Colonel Lethbridge €“ Stewart's first appearance. These two DVDs have been issued with special edition sleeve covers celebrating their discovery and quite rightly too. These are two releases we never imagined we'd have.
