12 Essential Stocking Fillers For Doctor Who Fans

6. 50th Anniversary Special and An Adventure in Space and Time DVD/Blu Rays

Adventure In Time And Space Obviously! Depending on your Whovian's persuasion and allegiance to current or classic Who you have some form of televisual festivities to put on the box and relive, after the regenerative trauma of Christmas special. These releases are likely to be things of beauty and contain all sorts of extras and deleted scenes, at very least the recently released 'The Night of the Doctor' featuring the return of the Eighth Doctor. Combined you will have nearly three hours of celebratory goodness. Whilst we can only speculate how good either production will be, what we have seen in trailers and photos up to now promises to be a visual spectacle. At time of writing, only 'An Adventure in Space and Time' has had extras announced. A graphical leaflet and introduction by Mark Gatiss, a feature on William Hartnell, Making of Documentary and reconstructions of classic scenes including some that no longer exist, as well as deleted scenes. An amazing package. All we know about 'The Day of the Doctor' is that the Blu Ray will be in 3D. We mustn't forget of course that currently only a very small handful of Doctor Who stories are left to release on DVD, so this might be a worthwhile occasion to fill gaps in your collection by putting stories on your Christmas list. Two must haves are of course...
