8. Nikki Wood
Nikki Wood was a Slayer based in New York City during the 1970s and who appeared in three Buffy episodes in total - though only ever in flashbacks or as one of the guises of the First Evil. Nikki was notable for being one of the few Slayers in history to have been a mother, as well as for her relatively long tenure as a Slayer (she lasted seven years). In 1977, she met her demise at the hands of notorious vampire Spike who broke her neck on board a New York train and took her leather jacket as a trophy (the one he wore so iconically in the Buffyverse). Her son, Robin Wood, would later arrive in Sunnydale and become the principal of the revamped Sunnydale High - though his real motives were revealed to be that he had come to kill Spike.
