12 TV Reboots You Didn't Know Were Coming
2. Supermarket Sweep
Supermarket Sweep has been a hugely successful game show, especially considering the pretty goofy premise. The original American show was sold to fifteen different territories, with three of them (Arab League, Ukraine and the UK) still airing new episodes.
The UK version was most recently rebooted, with Rylan Clark-Neal stepping in to the shoes of the late, great Dale Winton. It's the US version which is getting a revival in 2020, with former SNL regular Leslie Jones set to host.
The show is part quiz show, part trolley dash. Answering questions and completing grocery based mini games earns you more time for the finally supermarket sweep, which sees teams race around a store and grabbing whatever they can.
You earn points based on the value of the items you grab, as well as the variety of items swept into the trolley. There's also giant inflatables worth hidden money, specially marked soup cans and other weird and wonderful novelties. It's a completely daft game show, but it's one of the best of its kind. Leslie Jones definitely has the type of over the top presentation style to make it work, so there's a lot of potential here.
