12 TV Shows That Just Got Cancelled

1. Black Lightning

Black Lightning's run on The CW has been an impressive one. Initially meant to air on Fox before the network passed on it, the show was picked up by the channel synonymous with DC Comics programming. But it didn't join the Arrowverse (not right away at least) and instead chose to forge its own path of hard-hitting storytelling, using its characters to highlight important issues such as racism and discrimination.

Unfortunately, Jefferson Pierce's return to heroics as the legendary Black Lightning will come to an end following the conclusion of the show's fourth season.

Sure, 'cancellation' might be a bit of an extreme word considering it's choosing to wrap up the story on its own terms but given that the veteran show had already been renewed for Season 4 and there wasn't any indication then that it would be its last, it's still a pretty shocking movie. And it's even more unfortunate that it's happening now that Black Lightning is officially part of the Arrowverse.

Nonetheless, it's had a great run and its fans will definitely be sad to see the great show go.
