12 TV Shows You Won't Believe Are 10 Years Old In 2015

12. Grey's Anatomy

It's hard to believe that this group of surgical interns and their supervisors originally shot on to our screens a decade ago, but American Broadcasting Company did indeed air the first episode of Grey's Anatomy on March 27, 2005. Currently into its 11th series, there have been 228 episodes - with another five still remaining in the current series - as well as five specials and six "Webisodes" (entitled Seattle Grace: On Call) of the highly-popular medical drama. Doctor Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) started as the main protagonist at Seattle Grace Hospital - working alongside Dr. Miranda Baily (Chandra Wilson), Dr. George O'Malley (T.R. Knight), Dr. Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh), Dr. Izzie Stevens (Katherine Heigl) and Dr. Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) - and, in the subsequent episodes and series, they are joined or replaced by other doctors. The brilliant soundtrack, the oft-hilarious way in which patients are almost used as props by the doctors as they live out their own personal lives in the hospital and the weird medical cases - most notably when Dr. Grey removed an explosive device from inside someone's body - are just some of the reasons fans keep coming back for more. With 25 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, Grey's Anatomy has certainly been well-received critically - and an end does not appear to be in sight. It seems the public are fascinated by the fictional personal and professional lives of their physicians - who knew?
