Sometimes, all it takes for a TV show to be commissioned is a play on words that tickles a studio executive. Add in a slice of that irresistible Holiday Season magic and you've got a bonus reason to think your silly idea might work. This can be the only reason for the existence of Freeform's Wrap Battle.
If you didn't get it from the title immediately, it's to be a holiday gift-wrapping competition series hosted by comedian Sheryl Underwood along with RuPaul’s Drag Race's Carson Kressley and luxury paper brand Soolip's founder Wanda Wen as judges. There'll also be a pot of celebrity guest judges over a six episode run pitting 9 contestants against one another for a $50,000 prize.
But surely the money pales into insignificance next to the claim to be the world's best wrapper of presents...?
