13 Doctor Who Guest Stars Who Were Tragically Underused
11. Paterson Joseph
Paterson Joseph appeared in the Series 1 finale, Bad Wolf/The Parting of the Ways, and, despite being one of the contestants of Satelitte Five's Weakest Link (albeit a version in which the stakes were slightly higher than its real life counterpart), he really wasn't given the screen time he deserves. In the end it felt like his character, Rodrick, was only really there to break up the other scenes and, as an acclaimed alumni of the Royal Shakespeare Company and with a string of other popular TV performances to his name, he definitely has the acting gusto required to take on a more prominent guest role in the series. What's more, his name usually tops the lists of actors who should actually become the titular Time Lord and if that's not proof that fans want to see more from him then what is? According to some reports, though, he has previously turned down the show's coveted leading role in the past but that doesn't mean he wouldn't be interested in taking on a guest stint in the series. Hopefully it would be one which showcased him in a better light than the first time round, too.
