Now that The Good Wife is over, attention turns to what its creators will do next. And for their next trick, Michelle and Robert King are making BrainDead, a comedy-thriller (that also has elements of horror, sci-fi, and politics).

Set in Washington, D.C., it'll centre on a Capitol Hill Staffer played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who discovers a couple of big problems: the government has stopped working, and more pertinently mysterious alien bug creatures are feasting upon the brains of Capitol Hill staffers and members of Congress.

It sounds a bit ridiculous, but then that just makes it all the more appropriate for this particular election year, and the talent behind it means there's reason to believe this will actually work.

BrainDead begins June 13 on CBS.
