Music is an imperative tool in both film and TV that can single-handedly create an aura capable of making you feel more than any dialogue ever could. In fact, you're probably reading this with the opening bars of Lord Huron's magnificent 'The Night We Met' playing around in your head because, in all honesty, why wouldn't you be?

13 Reasons Why did a masterful job of employing music to assist telling its story and this is undoubtedly the finest example of that. A haunting piece of art, it complemented the story of Clay's feelings for Hannah and his ultimate regret over not being able to go back to their dance.

The later seasons also chose their music wisely, relying on songs (and the score in general) to imbue us with whatever feeling that that the writers were looking for from us. And, whether it was feelgood anthems like Bleachers' 'Rollercoaster' or Troye Sivan's tender 'The Good Side', it was easy to be swayed by the excellent song choices.
