15 Actors Who Have Been In Doctor Who More Than Once

14. Michael Sheard

Always guaranteed to produce a quality guest turn, Sheard turned up in six Who stories starring alongside five different Doctors. He was in First Doctor tale The Ark, Third Doctor tale The Mind of Evil, Fourth Doctor story The Invisible Enemy (which also introduced robot mutt K-9) and Fifth Doctor debut Castrovalva. Probably his best Who part was the tragic Laurence Scarman in Tom Baker classic Pyramids of Mars. In a disturbing scene, the soft-hearted Laurence is strangled by his own brother Marcus who has been possessed by the evil Sutekh the Destroyer. Sheard's last Who role was as the Headmaster in 1980's classic Remembrance of the Daleks, rather ironic as he was also famous at this time for playing the nasty Mr Bronson in Grange Hill. Sheard is also well known for getting the Vader treatment when he fails the Dark Lord in The Empire Strikes Back. His filmography also included Force 10 From Navarone and - *ahem* - Erotic Inferno.
