15 Best Brooklyn Nine-Nine Episodes

In the first of the annual Halloween specials, Jake challenges himself to steal Holt's highly protected Medal of Valor, in hopes of having the captain call him an "Amazing Detective/Genius."

Throughout the episode, it looks as though Jake is struggling to come up with a viable plan of action, as he's caught using the precinct's vents to get inside Holt's office, using birds to do his bidding for him, and dressing as a janitor in hopes the captain won't notice him.

All of this comes to a head in the final act, as Jake reveals his actions have all been a part of his master plan to distract Holt whilst Amy, Rosa and Charles sneak passed Holt's security and steal the Medal of Valor when he's not looking.

The show's first Halloween special is a stunning exercise in comedy, allowing Andy Samberg to show off the complete range of his comedic talents whilst strengthening Jake's relationship with Holt.

It was a great start to a great tradition, and stands as the first season's best episode.
