15 Best Brooklyn Nine-Nine Episodes

7. Safe House (Season 5, Episode 12)

Brooklyn Nine-Nine The Box Jake Holt
NBC

Safe House is the kind of episode where Brooklyn Nine-Nine thrives. An almost-bottle episode with an unmissable premise, it finds Jake tasked with protecting Holt's husband Kevin in a locked-down safe house after he's threatened by a violent criminal.

With limited access to the outside world, Jake and Kevin are forced to live together under one roof whilst following a series of increasingly strict and over-the-top rules courtesy of Holt.

Pure, laugh-out-loud comedy all the way through, Safe House sees the odd couple binge watch Nicolas Cage movies and risk going out in public dressed like "weird perverts." It also features Holt at his most comically intense and extreme, which makes the whole ridiculous situation all the more hysterical.

They haven't been given a lot of time together over the show's run, but Safe House is living proof that despite their differences Jake and Kevin are show's most underappreciated pair.
