15 Doctor Who Actors Who Died In 2021

12. David De Keyser

Unlike everyone else on this list, David de Keyser didn't appear in Doctor Who physically - rather, both of his roles in the Whoniverse were voice-only.

He first popped up as the voice of the Atraxi in the 2010 episode The Eleventh Hour, with his booming pipes making a one-note villain feel pretty darn menacing.

Sticking with the Matt Smith era, his next Doctor Who role wasn't in the show; it was actually in a game. The underrated 2012 PS3/PC/PS Vita game Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock features de Keyser as the voice of the Cybermen, who are one of the main villains throughout the story.

He passed away on 20 February, at 93 years of age.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
