4. Game Of Thrones: Every Season Starts Well, Dips Slightly And Then Ends Fantastically

There's a reason that so many tune into Game of Thrones; well, two if you count the stunning Emilia Clarke. It's one of the most critically and publicly loved shows of the past few years, and each season is a slow-burning, shocking epic, that rises to an explosive climax. The stats of the show suggest the very same thing. Of the first three series, each opener has scored 8.9, 8.8 and 8.7 respectively. There's a lull after that; the following two episodes of each season average 8.75, 8.65 and 8.65 respectively. But wow does the series pick up towards the end, as the final two episodes of each season average 9.4, 9.5 and 9.45 respectively: that's consistency, for you. 'The Rains of Castamere' has been awarded an incredible 9.9; 'And Now His Watch Is Ended' scores a cool 9.5 and even the two lowest-rated episodes rake in 8.5 each. The viewing figures are steadily on the up too; each season has apparently topped the last one in amassing, on average, a million more viewers. It's a phenomenon that doesn't look to be wavering any time soon.
