15 Greatest American Horror Story Characters

8. Michael Langdon

American Horror Story Dandy Mott
FX

After much of Murder House was built around the birth of the anti-Christ, Michael Langdon returned in Apocalypse ready to bring the world to its knees. An appearance that was seven years in the making, there was obviously a lot hype surrounding Cody Fern's American Horror Story debut, and it did not disappoint.

It would have been easy to make Michael a ridiculously overpowered warlock hell bent on world domination. While it seemed this way at first, Apocalypse took a deeper look into Tate Langdon and Vivien Harmon's son, and the struggles he found himself facing, woefully unprepared to lead his fanatics into war.

With such pressure for great things on his shoulders as the anti-Christ, Michael found himself unsure of his path, what to do next, and how to live up to everything that was expected of him. Like Madison, he was a complicated character, and while he did become an immensely powerful being, he certainly wasn't gifted it.

Eventually Michael cut a powerful, intimidating figure, and it took the strongest witches and warlocks in the world to the very limits of their power to bring him down.
