11. Batman: The Brave And The Bold
Batman: The Brave and the Bold was a surprisingly refreshing take on the caped crusader, as it abandoned the tiresome, serious character-tone in exchange for a campy, colourful and ultimately fun cartoon. The show solely focused on team ups for every episode, ranging from the boring Aquaman to Zatanna, as each superhero aided Batman in thwarting dastardly villains and solving mysterious crimes. There was no overarching storyline for Brave and the Bold though, as each episode supported its own stand-alone story, making it incredibly easy for viewers to pick up. It boasted a terrific selection of voice actors too, with guest appearances from Jeffrey Combs, Ron Perlman, J.K.Simmons, Clancy Brown and Iaon Gruffudd. Along with the superb guest stars, the show's main voice actors consisted of the legendary voice actor John DiMaggio, Diedrich Bader and Corey Burton. Being quintessential cartoon fun, it was fantastic from start to finish and even managed some risqué subjects which remarkably got through the censors. Case in point: The Birds of Prey song from 'The Mask of Matches Malone'. The show clearly revelled in its campiness, which was a welcome change. The Brave and the Bold tried its best to feature lesser-known characters, making it quite the treat for DC fans. Don't quickly disregard the show for its colourful, initially-'childish' look, as Batman: The Brave and the Bold was a sincere take on Batman, harking back to DC's Silver Age.
