15 Mind-Blowing Facts About The Sopranos

8. Body Armour

For the first three seasons of The Sopranos, Steven Schirripa had to wear a fat suit/body armour in order to portray the larger-than-life Bobby. Given that Bobby was subjected to many fat jokes during the show, it's unsurprising that Schirripa - who at the time wasn't much larger than Gandolfini - was concerned that he wasn't big enough for the role. After Season Four, the fat suit was scrapped... Schirripa speculates that "I guess, in Season 4, David thought I was fat enough on my own, so he let me get rid of it." Denise Borino, who played Ginny Sacramoni, also reportedly wore body armour to make her character appear fatter.
