11. The Soup

"You want bread? THREE DOLLARS!!! No soup for you!" -Soup Nazi Ahh, the mother of all quotable television. Yev Kassem, otherwise known as the Soup Nazi, is based on legendary soup kitchen proprietor Al "Soup Man" Yeganeh of Soup Kitchen International at 55th & 8th right off of Central Park. Look it up or stop in if you're ever in town (the lobster bisque is to die for) and while it really is a friendlier environment than portrayed here, the rules are the exact same; choose your soup, have your money ready and step to the EXTREME left, as the sign says. Elaine, however, is a loose cannon who doesn't play by the rules and the Soup Nazi, named that by the gang for his incredible devotion to those three rules, bans her from the soup kitchen. She retaliates by taking the soup recipes she found in an armoire given to her by Kramer who in turn received it from the Soup Nazi, and threatening to sell them to competing establishments, forcing him to shut down. Two things to take away from this: don't upset Elaine, and seriously, lobster bisque. Do it.
