Friends: The shock of Chandler and Monica almost getting married in Vegas is trumped by the shock of Ross and Rachel ACTUALLY getting married in Vegas. Neither party remembers in their drunken state and Ross later refuses to get a divorce as he doesn't want to be divorced three times before he is 30. Fortunately he does, and in doing so a recurring joke about Ross - The Divorce Force is born. The Big Bang Theory: Quite why the writers threw Penny marrying Zack into the mix no one really knows. It brings nothing to the overall story and appeared to be just another excuse to throw an obstacle in Penny and Leonards way, and an excuse to bring Zack back. Quite unnecessary. It goes without saying that Friends did it best here.
