15 Small Details You Only Notice Rewatching Star Wars: The Clone Wars
5. Caleb Dume And Order 66
By the time season seven kicked off, it was becoming increasingly clear that the show was nearing its end and that Order 66 was imminent.
In the episode "Old Friends Not Forgotten," in the opening montage, the Jedi Masters who are killed in Revenge of the Sith can be seen gearing up for battle, with the likes of Aayla Secura, Plo Koon and Ki-Adi-Mundi getting ready for what will end up being their final stand.
The best part of the montage, though, comes with a surprise cameo from a young Caleb Dume - the Jedi who would come to be known as Kanan Jarrus after the Purge and play a lead role in Star Wars Rebels. He can be seen on a hologram with his master, Depa Billaba, the old apprentice of Mace Windu who would soon sacrifice herself to save her padawan.
The whole intro serves as a blunt reminder that the show - and the Republic - is in its final moments.
