3. Captain Rex's Eyes

Watching Order 66 was hard enough in Revenge of the Sith, but The Clone Wars went ahead and made it even harder to sit through, since the entire show had allowed fans to form connections with the clones.

No clone is better explored or better written than Captain Rex, who works side by side with Anakin and Ahsoka throughout the wars and forms a bond with them both.

In the episode "Shattered," Rex (recently promoted to Commander) gets a hologram from Palpatine, who has the clone execute Order 66. As the order is given, a quick close-up on Rex's eyes shows his pupils dilating as the secretly-planted behaviour modification chip takes effect and causes him to turn on his friend.

Also, as he turns his guns on Ahsoka, a tear can be seen running down his face, making the scene all the more emotionally devastating.
