15 TV Seasons That Are Totally Flawless

5. The Good Place - Season One

The Good Place

There are few shows that have debuted in the last ten years that can claim to be as imaginative and unique as Michael Schur's brilliantly philosophical sitcom The Good Place.

If we're being honest, any season of the show could have made it onto this list, from the time-bending insanity of its second year to its third season journey into the real world, but for sheer originality purposes, its opening season takes the cake.

Following a group of people brought together in the afterlife and forced to confront who they were when they were alive, the first season poses a moral dilemma thanks to Kristen Bell's protagonist Eleanor, who isn't meant to be in the titular Good Place (aka Heaven) and wants to become a better person so she can stay.

Thanks to its top-drawer cast - including a never-better Bell and a typically charming Ted Danson - fully-formed characters, deliriously funny comedy and incorporation of philosophical teachings, The Good Place hit its stride right out the gate, and proved to be one of the most surreal and memorable sitcoms of all time in the process.
