15 TV Seasons That Are Totally Flawless

American Horror Story, as a whole, has several inconsistencies that are tough to ignore, from the lacklustre Roanoke storyline to whatever Apocalypse was trying to achieve.

But then there's Coven, the show's third instalment, which is about as perfect as AHS has ever been. Aesthetically and thematically daring without pause, the season tells the story of a school for young witches, all of whom find themselves caught between age-old feuds, serial killer spirits and a constant struggle for power and belonging.

Coven blends witchcraft with slasher-horror, fantasy and even romance, into a season that tells a story of adolescence that's as empowering as it is disturbing, and moving as it is action-packed.

From the sinister determination of Jessica Lange's power-hungry Supreme witch to Sarah Paulson's altruistic heroine, Coven has a host of the show's best characters, and thanks to its perfectly controlled pace and adequate scare factor, it makes for an absolute homerun.
