17 Shows To Binge-Watch Before They Return This Fall

7. New Girl

Brooklyn Nine-Nine might be the outright funniest in sitcom of fall, but it€™s Sunday night stablemate New Girl can lay claim to being the best overall. Not only is it hilarious, but you€™re also invested in the plot and care about each of the characters and their story.

It€™s known for being Zooey Deschanel€™s show, and while she is great and typically €˜adorkable€™ in it, it€™s her flatmates who really steal the spotlight, in particular Nick (Jake Johnson) and Schmidt (Max Greenfield).

They are endlessly quotable and funny enough to make you spit out your tea (other drinks are available), but also have a lot of heart and you really root for them. The more the show has moved away from focusing on Jess to it really becoming an ensemble piece the better it has got, and season 4 was perhaps the best yet. Season 5, airing from the end of September, may well top it, but there€™s a lot of great stuff to get through before then if you haven€™t seen it or need a refresher.

Now, anyone for a game of True American?
