There's no shortage of animated shows about a five person family and their crazy antics. Yet Bob's Burgers still manages to stand out from that busy crowd. The show got off to a rocky start when season one received poor critical response. Critics described the show as lacklustre and drew unfavourable parallels to existing Fox animations. Luckily for the Belchers, ratings were high enough to warrant a second season and the show has been going strong ever since.

The special thing about Bob is, he isn't special at all. He's literally just a father trying to keep his small business afloat in consistently choppy waters. It's not that he's not good at his job - his burgers are fantastic - it's just a struggle for anyone to keep a business running. His constant perseverance is inspiring and that's why we love him.

What makes the character better is that, he's so run down by his hectic life that he's resigned to failure most of the time. But when he achieves even the smallest of things, the elation he feels is so wholesome that you are watching a man picking a turkey out of a freezer, but you share his sense of happiness and accomplishment.
