20 Best TV Comedy Characters Of The 21st Century
8. Mark Corrigan - Peep Show
Peep Show was a masterclass in dry, British humour. Running for twelve years, the show didn't exactly bring in big numbers when it came to ratings. In fact, the show didn't really get popular until its original airing was long over. Thanks to streaming sites such as Netflix picking up the show, viewers found it easier to digest via binge watching the show, rather than following it week to week.
It was David Mitchell's character that stands out from the rest. Mark Corrigan represents all of us, in our awkward ways. He would love nothing more than to just be allowed to carry on with his day without fuss. Yet that's not at all possible when living with his long time friend and flatmate, Jeremy.
Mark is an intelligent guy, but completely useless in any kind of social situation. Due to this awkwardness, he struggles to maintain intimate relationships, even when he finds a perfect match in Dobby.
