20 Best TV Shows Of 2015

15. Arrow

If I were basing this list purely on the back-half of 2015, then Arrow would probably be much higher on this list. Season 4 of the show has burst out of the gate, running at a blistering pace and introducing one of the best small-screen DC villains to-date. The battle between Oliver Queen and Damien Darhk is nowhere near its climax, yet already it has been fast-paced and furious, exciting, and dramatic. Neal McDonough is absolutely killing it every time he is on screen as the villain, and Stephen Amell is matching him every step of the way, especially since his transition into Green Arrow, meaning he gets to have a bit more fun in the role. Outside of the main two, we've also had Felicity and Diggle brought back into the fold more, even getting some OG Team Arrow action, and the fourth season is proving - through its opening nine episodes, at least - to be the strongest yet. That being said, the reason it isn't higher is the third season. It was a dark time for the show, as they never moved out of the shadow of Sara's death, and the second-half of the season felt rather wasted. Oliver switched his allegiance to the League of Assassins for a few episodes, but didn't really achieve all that much in doing so. Roy Harper boldly took the blame for being the Arrow, but there was no emotional payoff as he'd been so reduced as a side character by that point. Felicity was sidelined to the point of being simply a love interest. Season 4 has saved the show, and if it can deliver on what it's promised and remain consistently this good throughout 2016, it'll be climbing up the (salmon) ladder next year.
