20 Big Questions About 2017's Most Hotly Anticipated TV Shows
12. Are They Really Married? - Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
Another Netflix gem - if a comparatively under-appreciated one - that had a stellar 2016 was Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. In its sophomore year the show get weirder, funnier, darker, and smarter, continuing to explore Kimmy's adaption to life outside the bunker while also dealing with her PTSD and abandonment issues.
While it seemed this had reached its logical conclusion with her reunion of Kimmy and her mother - a literal rollercoaster of emotions - the show had one last rug to pull.
Calling Kimmy from prison, Jon Hamm's Rev. Richard Wayne Gary Wayne made a surprising return, and delivered an even more surprising revelation: he and Kimmy are married.
It's not beyond him to lie in order to cause torment, so we have to wonder if its true, or - even if he believes they are - whether it's legally binding given it presumably happened in the bunker and Kimmy apparently doesn't recall it. If it means more of Hamm in Season 3, though, then I'm all for it.
