This one pretty much writes itself: in Little Rich Girls, self-obsessed professional daughters Amy and Jill Green are cut off from Daddy's money and have to move in together to make ends meet.
Played by Reese Witherspoon and Christina Applegate, this would have been a match made in heaven… although it was never meant to be. Witherspoon was supposed to be reprising her role as Rachel’s younger sister Jill in season nine but was unavailable, so the writers invented a second sister, Amy - and Applegate ended up winning an Emmy for her performance in that role.
Imagine the two of them together - it’s television gold. It would never have come about: by the time Friends finished, Witherspoon had just made Legally Blonde and her movie career had exploded. Still, it’s fun to dream.
