No seriously. The production schedule of Orphan Black is ridiculous compared to most other shows. Scenes which feature even just a couple of clones involves a heck of a lot of work, hours more shooting than a basic dialogue scene ever should when you throw in the more action-packed sequences, it gets even more ridiculous. The basic version involves Tatiana Maslany acting opposite body doubles, then filming the scene as the character the double stood in for. Those layers are then edited together, which is an incredibly time-consuming process. Sometimes it's not always possible to work with doubles, either, in which case Maslany has to act opposite some tennis balls held on sticks in order to maintain eyelines with the characters she's meant to be talking to (that is, herself after she's aced each part of the scene). Playing all those different characters is incredibly difficult not only technically but for the actress herself. Apparently there's a whole separate continuity team to keep Tatiana Maslany from mixing up the characters, with scripts including not only dialogue but character specific stage directions. That stops her from, say, doing an Sarah eye roll rather than an Alison eye roll.
