That's a nice little homage to the past of the Orphan Black team, sure. But given their track record for finding locations, it might also just be because the people who make this show are hella lazy. Or maybe just thrifty? Either way, they apparently never stray too far in looking for places to shoot Beth's psychiatrists office that appeared in the first two episodes of the first season were actually the show's writers room. Since then they've moved locations, but to somewhere that's been even more ubiquitous throughout Orphan Black so far. Right now the central hub for working on the series is adjacent to Shite Beach, the location used for Sarah's fake funeral in the first season, and just across the canal from where Katja met her untimely demise during the same episode. Since then it has returned as the perfect place for Sarah and Felix to retreat, drink beer, and look for monkey fish throughout the show since, in flashback and otherwise. Shite Beach, as Felix refers to it in that episode, is actually a pretty well known place, and its colourful nickname is a genuine colloquialism. Which is rather charming. Even if it is rather lazy.
