2. In The Comics, He's 'Armless

There's plenty of differences between The Walking Dead comic books and the TV show: half the current cast are original creations not seen on the page, Shane and Lori's tryst was a much shorter thing (and came to a much earlier end), but the character who is most radically changed between comic and screen is Rick Grimes. He had to deal with Shane way earlier, his family situation is generally a lot more screwed up, plus Andrea is still alive and well and has a continuing romantic relationship with the sheriff. Possibly the biggest change, though, is that Rick lost a hand pretty early on. The reason they didn't repeat this plot development for the TV show? Constantly CGIing out Andrew Lincoln's very-much-intact hand would be too complicated and costly...
