20 Mind-Blowing Facts You Never Knew About George RR Martin

1. Nobody Else Is Allowed To Finish The Books

One question the Game Of Thrones author is sick of answering? €œWhen is the next book going to be done?€ Fans have been eagerly awaiting the last two instalments in the Song Of Ice And Fire series - The Winds Of Winter and A Dream Of Spring - with the publication date of both constantly shifting. The anticipation only increased with the adaptation of the Game Of Thrones TV series. Martin is sick of being asked that, because it only intensifies the pressure to make a good ending to his series, and he€™s deathly afraid he might €œpull a Lost.€ Still, he has the ending for the series well marked out - he's even shared his plans with the Game Of Thrones showrunners, in preparation for the series overtaking the book. Or worse. If George R.R. Martin dies before he can finish his book series (as people are fond of suggesting he might), at least the TV show will wrap up the way it was intended. But he has absolutely no intention of letting anybody finishing the books though, a practice not uncommon with fantasy authors who leave sweeping epics unfinished. Should he croak before completing A Song Of Ice And Fire, Martin has left instructions that all his incomplete notes and manuscripts be destroyed so no one else can finish them.
