20 Things You Totally Missed In The Walking Dead
8. Clever Sets
When it comes to making a show as big as The Walking Dead, elaborate sets and large amounts of land are needed for filming. Whilst places like Alexandria and Hilltop are filmed on real-life locations, places such as the prison are actually sets made for the show.
Whilst the prison is a massive set and is around for a long time, when that story arc came to an end it had to be taken down. This led to the opportunity for it to be re-used: It serves as the Alexandria construction site in season five. The hospital in season five is also re-used in season ten as the tower in which the Survivors are trapped by Beta (Ryan Hurst).
Also, in a blink-and-you'll miss it piece of scenery, as Rick is talking to Morgan over the walkie talkie at the beginning of season two, Grady Memorial can be seen in the background of the shot.
