20 TV Acting Performances That Are Totally Flawless

3. Lena Heady - Game Of Thrones

Game of Thrones had the world by the throat during the majority of the 2010s, and regardless of fans' thoughts on the divisive final season, there's no denying just how miraculous and epic the show was during its run.

Characterised by expansive set pieces and brutal battle scenes, Game of Thrones' biggest asset was its cast. Peter Dinklage, Emilia Clarke, Maisie Williams, Charles Dance and so, so many more actors shone on the show, but for this list focus has to fall on Lena Heady's remarkable turn as the manipulative and sinister Cersei Lannister.

As Cersei, Heady found the role of a lifetime, playing a woman deeply in love with her twin brother and constantly fighting for power and prestige. Along the way, she was tortured, beaten down, rose from the ashes, struck down her enemies, manipulated her foes and outsmarted the sharpest minds in Westeros.

Every step of the way, Heady was intimidating, vulnerable but cruel, deceptive and unpredictable, and despite the stiff competition she certainly gave the show its best performance.
