20 TV Show Finales That Are Totally Flawless

18. Chosen - Buffy The Vampire Slayer

For many fans, Buffy the Vampire Slayer's final season was far from perfect, let-down by its myriad of unrelated subplots, abundance of inconsequential supporting characters, and its briefly cool but ultimately forgettable villain.

That being said, the season seven finale Chosen did a lot of damage control to make sure the show ended as strong as it started, pitting Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and her allies against their biggest threat yet and throwing them head-first into an almost suicidal clash with evil.

Overflowing with epic fight scenes, striking character payoffs and emotional goodbyes, Chosen features several major call-backs to earlier episodes, daringly kills off several fan favourite characters, and has one-time villain Spike (James Marsters) finally prove his worth as a true hero by giving his life to win the show's final battle.

Action-heavy and frequently defying expectations, Chosen ends Buffy in the best way possible - by having its heroes put their lives on the line one last time, whatever the cost, and allowing them each time to shine before the credits roll.

I get to write about what I love, so that's pretty cool. Be excellent to each other.
