20 TV Shows That Are Practically Flawless
4. BoJack Horseman
A horse walks into a bar. He's a former TV actor who spends his days drowning in depression and alcoholism, remembering the glory days and hoping a comeback will make him feel happy again. In order to do that, he's hired a ghostwriter to pen his memoirs, with the intention of "making everyone love him again."
That's how BoJack Horseman starts, and it spirals out of control from there. Created by writer Raphael Bob-Waksberg, the Netflix tragicomedy aired six seasons, each more devastating than the last, that followed BoJack and his put-upon inner-circle through addiction, mental health crises, family woes and ill-fated romance.
BoJack Horseman was both a celebrity satire and an hilarious dark comedy. It talked about everything from depression to gun control, fame and death with stark honesty, creative animation, and a killer cast that included Will Arnett, Aaron Paul and Alison Brie. It was rarely easy viewing, but it never failed to keep you coming back for more.
