20 Valuable Life Lessons Doctor Who Has Taught Us

7. Violence Is Never The Answer

Each incarnation of the Doctor is wildly different from the last. It was often shown in the way they dress. Dignified to a hobo, cricketeer to a multi-coloured coat, leather jacket to a three-piece suit... Their demeanor's were often quite different, too. The First and Twelfth Doctors were more gruff, the Seventh and Eleventh tended to be more youthful and comedic. For all the differences between the incarnations, though, one major similarity remains. The Doctor tries to solve any situation without using violence, or using it as a last resort. That said, the Doctor's form of violence is still quite tame for most people's definition, as he has never used a firearm towards another person (though he has used the threat of one a couple of times!), nor has he killed anyone purely out of malice. Armed with a simple sonic screwdriver and his trusty wit, he is able to outthink many of his opponents and save the day. Lesson Learned: Finding the path of least violence will typically ensure the least amount of pain for all parties involved.

I am an avid fan of Doctor Who, Video Games and WWE Wrestling who is a 12 year medically retired veteran of the U.S. Air Force. I've been married for 14 years with two children, 10 and 8. As a stay at home father, I find myself with copious amounts of free time and have taken to writing as a way to give me something to do. I currently reside near Kansas City, Missouri in the United States but am originally from Chicago, Illinois.
