Such is Jeri Taylor's impact in Star Trek, we published a video outlining her greatest scripts here.

Jeri Taylor joined the writing staff for The Next Generation as that show entered its fourth season, with her first job including a rewrite of the script for Suddenly Human. She quickly established herself and her talent, becoming a co-executive producer on the sixth season, and then an executive producer on the seventh season, of which she was also the showrunner.

Though her writing credits are legion, Taylor is perhaps best remembered as the co-creator of Star Trek: Voyager. She herself was born in Bloomington, Indiana, which then served as the birthplace of Kathryn Janeway. Taylor was executive producer on Voyager for its first four seasons, before stepping back into a creative consultant role for the final three years.

Taylor's era in Star Trek saw a rise in the number of roles for women, including seeing Beverly Crusher command the Enterprise in Descent, and Troi achieve the rank of commander in Thine Own Self. Taylor penned three Star Trek novels, two of which helped flesh out the backstories of several of the characters on Voyager.

Head writer of Star Trek: Prodigy, Aaron Waltke, credited Taylor's creative notes, donated to Indiana University, as one of his major sources of learning for his writing.

Taylor was 86 years old when she died.
