10. The Emperor's Guards The Parting Of The Ways
In another rare Series 1 reference to Classic Who, we get an Easter Egg that takes us all the way back to the days of Patrick Troughtons Second Doctor. The inclusion of an immobile Dalek Emperor in the Series 1 finale The Parting of The Ways was inspired by the first Dalek Emperor seen in Doctor Who (1967s The Evil Of The Daleks) but eagle-eyed viewers may notice another homage to Evil in the same scenes. The four floating Daleks guarding the Emperor differ ever so slightly from standard Daleks, having black domes rather than the completely bronze colouring of the Time War Daleks. This is a reference to the Emperors guards in Evil which matched the silver and blue colouring of the standard Daleks but were distinguished by their black domes.
9. The Second And Eighth Doctors Meet The Name Of The Doctor
http://youtu.be/N34g5z4t168?t=1m6s While the inclusion of both archive and new footage of the previous Doctors in the Series 7 finale is about as subtle as being clubbed over the head with a complete boxset of New Who, one so easy to miss that it qualifies as an Easter Egg is the appearance of the Eighth Doctor during the pre-titles sequence. In the scene where the Second Doctor runs past Clara, we see a very brief glimpse of the Eighth Doctor running the other way, suggesting that at some point they either ended up battling some kind of threat together or happened to be in the same time and place as each other at one point.
