Who? Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski (creators), Ryan Murphy (exec. producer, director); Penelope Cruz, Edgar Ramirez, Darren Criss, Ricky Martin.

What? The second instalment of FX's American Crime Story (a whole new cast and story, so technically this is a *new* show), which will focus on, well, the assassination of fashion designer Gianni Versace by serial killer Andrew Cunanan.

Why? The People v O.J. Simpson was a stunning blend of fact and a little fiction, putting a new spin on a well-known topic. From the trailers, there's every reason to believe this could be just as good. Ricky Martin is a curious casting choice, but the rest is great - Criss and Cruz are terrific choices for their characters in particular. It doesn't immediately quite lend itself to the same twisty narrative as Simpson's trial, but if it can even come close to matching that quality, it'll be among the best of the year.
