28 Hottest New TV Shows Currently In Production

20. Fear The Walking Dead (Summer 2015)

Termed a "companion show" and not a "spin-off", "Fear the Walking Dead" will see a first season of six episodes screen in 2015 and a second series - yes, they have already commissioned another - in 2016. Set in Los Angeles, four protagonists will face the beginning of the end of the world - and begin to see what a post-apocalyptic Earth will look like. None of the original central cast will feature, but at least Robert Kirkman is still involved in this one. Revolving around a divorced male teacher, a female guidance counsellor and her two children, these four must face up to the horrible reality that the world is becoming. The Selling Point: Another opportunity to see Robert Kirkman's post-apocalyptic world on the screen - what's not to like? The Concerns: Spin-offs are a risk - yes they'll originally draw on the viewers who loved the core show, but can Fear the Walking Dead really reach the heights of its forerunner?

19. The Astronaut Wives Club (June 2015)

"The Astronaut Wives Club: A True Story" was a 2014 book which told the story behind some of the women who supported American astronauts during the space race in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s - and it is now being made into a series. Although expected to premiere in mid-2014, the producers decided they wanted to re-shoot some parts and so it is now due to be released in June. Commissioned as a straight-to-series 10-episode show, it will follow the domestic lives of the astronauts' wives who lived in constant fear. The Selling Point: The book was a huge success so there is no reason to believe the series should be any different - plus the human factor should draw in the audiences. The Concerns: It's already been delayed for a year due to "changes", so let's hope they are for the better and not just because it was so bad to begin with...
