Long before she hit it big on Firefly and StarGate Atlantis, becoming something of a genre queen in the process, Jewel Saite had a small role on The X-Files in the episode Oubliette, from the third season. Saite plays Amy, a girl kidnapped by a photographer who also kidnapped another girl, Lucy, years earlier. Lucy escaped, but has maintained a psychic connection to her kidnapper, which is where Mulder and Scully come in. Originally set to be aged about twelve, Fox was concerned about similarities to at least one real-life child abduction case, and so the character of Amy was aged up, which allowed Saite to take on the role.
