Following on from the success of The Night Manager, AMC and BBC are teaming up for yet another John le Carré adaptation, this time of his 1983 novel The Little Drummer Girl.

Coming from the same team behind that award-winning series, The Little Drummer Girl takes place in Greece in the 1970s. There, upcoming actress Charlie strikes up a friendship with an intriguing stranger who turns out to be an Israeli intelligence officer, and she gets caught up in a plot orchestrated by an Israeli spymaster.

It's a complex tale of spies, love, and betrayal, but most exciting is the talent involved. Oldboy's Park Chan-wook will direct the six-part miniseries, with Alexander Skarsgård, Florence Pugh, and Michael Shannon set to star. That's one way to justify the licence fee.
