4 Ups & 2 Downs From Doctor Who Series 12 - Nikola Tesla's Night Of Terror

1. The Guest Performances

Nikola Tesla Thomas Edison Doctor Who
BBC

If there was one (or really two) things that stood out most in Nikola Tesla's Night of Terror, it was the performances of our two main guest stars. Goran Višnjić and Robert Glenister's performances as Nikola Tesla and Thomas Edison respectively go down as two of the best portrayals of historical figures in Doctor Who alongside the likes of Vinette Robinson as Rosa Parks, and Simon Callow as Charles Dickens.

These intellectual characters play out exactly as you'd expect them to, not only when battling with each other, but also when they go about dealing with an alien threat and a mysterious stranger they somehow instantly trust. An aura of wonder surrounds both characters when up against the Skithra, and they both strive to understand the logistics of the TARDIS, and aren't completely dismissing of the idea that aliens are indeed real.

These two characters were portrayed perfectly, and it'd be a true delight to see Goran Višnjić cameo later down the line as Tesla once again. Charles Dickens and Winston Churchill cameo'd in a future episode of Who after they first appeared, why not have Tesla return too?
